Day 01: Arrival in Leh. Kushok Bakula airport. 

From airport to be received by our representative and transferred to the Hotel. Check in to the hotel for a complete day of rest for acclimatization wherein welcome tea and coffee will be served. Lunch will be served at 02:00pm. After lunch visit Leh Market, 17th century Leh Palace, and Shanti Stupa. Overnight at Leh in Hotel/Guest house.

Day 02: A Full-day sightseeing to the Monasteries of Indus valley. (104 Kms / 5-6 hrs)

After breakfast drive to visit the 16th century Shey Palace shrine room, 14th century Thiksay, 17th century Hemis monasteries. Packed or Hot Lunch will be provided. Return to Leh in the evening. Overnight at Leh in Hotel/Guest house.

Day 03: Day trip to Pangong Lake enroute visit Thiksay monastery. (280 Kms / 10-11 Hrs)

After an early breakfast leave for Pangong Lake (14,500 ft), through Changla-Pass (17,350 ft.), it is the third highest motorable road in the world. Around 12:00 hrs arrive Pangong Lake, the Highest Salt Water Lake in the World, shared by two countries India & China. Packed or Hot Lunch will be provided. Enjoy the beauty of the lake on the banks of Pangong while appreciating the changing colors and fascinating high altitude of the Lake. Drive back to Leh by the same route. Overnight at Leh in Hotel/Guest house.

Day 04: Leh – Lamayuru Sham valley. (120 kms) 

After breakfast drive to Mulbek enroute visit Magnetic hill, Confluence of Indus-Zanskar River, Likir monastery , 11th century Alchi monastery, panoramic landscape of Lamayuru village popularly known as moon landscape and visit Lamayuru monastery. Overnight at Lamayuru. 

Day 05: Trek from Lamayuru to Wanla village. (3- 4 hrs)

We will pack, take a watch on the horses and will get ready to set off for our first day adventure.An easy trail will lead us to small pass Prinkti La (3750m) before we will head down to the Shilla village which is three km to Wanla (32500Hee we will set the camp for the entire night and we will spend the evening relaxing under the sun or can also go for exploring wanla gompa before gathering up for dinner.

Day 06: Trek from Wanla to Hanupatta. (5- 6 hrs)

To a beautiful valley we will choose the easiest way towards Phansilla (3410m) from here we will walk in the valley where the valley will start growing narrow along with the mountains towering over our heads and the river Zanskar makes the way deep in the gorge. Harsh landscapes and rose bushes will offer your senses an endearing experience. We will camp along the sides of the river after the village Hanupatta (3760)where we can observe the view deep down.

Day 07: Trek from Hanupatta To Sir Sir La 4850m To Photoskar. (6 to 7 hrs)

For some time we will follow the river and the valley before crossing the river and then we will begin with the gradual descent to sirsir la (4850)at the top we can find the beautiful views of the Zanskar range as well as the pass the Singge La (5090m).

To reach down the village Photoskar (4200m), it has two to two and a half distance which is situated on the cliffs of the hills almost crossing the sky and green fields surrounded by. The path will disappear towards the Sumdo In the deep gorge which is along the right of the village. We will camp for the night along the river rest and enjoy.

Day 08: Trek from Photoskar to Base of Singge La (7- 8 hrs trek)

This morning we will cross the small pass of Bumifktse La (4200)and will enter the wide valley Lush Photang. A simple track will lead us to the amazing landscapes were villagers graze their animals such as yaks and horses. Ever changing landscapes of Zaskar are the most fascinating things to watch. Each time we move the scene changes in front of us. The majestic Zanskar river assumes when crossing through the deepest gorges and twisted green fields which forms its own life. One ever gets bored as the shadows and colour changes because of the sun. Steadily we will walk towards the Sengge La or the Lion pass. The final few distance we have to travel is steep but it will offer us the rewarding sight on the top. From the pass the distance from our site is easy to walk.

Day 09: Trek from Foot of Singge La To Lingshed. (4 - 5 hrs)

We will move above the Zanskar river; -where the hills take greener and gentler formations before we will descend from Kiupa La (4400) there is a deep zigzag path to the village gong MA (3840) and Skiumpata. From here we will start climbing up an easy way to the Margum La (4400m) from where we can watch Lingshed for an hour or so. Our camp is just by the monastery which belongs to the order Gelugpa and dwellings around of 60 monks. The hamlet is widespread in a huge area surrounded by barley fields.

Day 10: Trek from Lingshed village to Snertse across Hanuma-La Pass 4950 mtrs (8hrs trek)

We will walk for the entire day through the green fields of LInghed. The way has some up and down curves before we will reach the base of Hanuma La, From ere we will begin the steep path that will lead us to the pass top. Before we will reach gorge the ways are easy to walk and soon comes the plain valley. Tracks are flooded with rose bushes and a flourishing riverbed. There is a herders camp present above the campsite of Snertse were cheese, milk and curd is available sometimes. It is possible hunting down the riverbed of fossils. Local villagers are sometimes available and are interested in showing their findings. Great Himalayas were formed from the foundation of the Indian plate when it slammed into the stationary volume of Asia about 50million years ago. The Zanskar range consists of sediment layer of the river flow bed and the Ladak range was born from the granite which emerald out of the extensive heat generated by the friction occurred between the two plates.

Day 11: Trek from Snertse to Hanumil across Purfi-La pass 3950 mtrs (4-5hrs)

Today we will take the path for another pass Parif La. Which is a small distance after Snerte, There is the beautiful view of the valley , the Oma Chu River and we can see the pass just below from there. There starts the juniper covered zigzag ways when we will pass the bridge up to Parif La.If we will be lucky hen may be we can come across the species of the Himalayan region. Which is the majestic bear. Himalayan blue sheep are the other attractions we can come across. From here we will walk down towards the banks of the river Zanskar and then we will take the path to the village Hanumil (3380m) where we will find our camp for overnight.

Day 12: Trek from Hanumil to Pishu. (4-5 hrs)

We will start the journey by choosing an easy way from plain and barren which is along the River Zanskar and then will follow the way to Pishu (3470m) passing the Pidmo (3420m) There lives the families from about 8-9 which lives a simple traditional and simple life. Pishu is situated at the left of the river Zanskar, and opposite to the Zangla (which is a small kingdom) There we will also explore a bridge which is 55m long and is the longest bridge on the river of Zanskar. We will end the day reaching to our camp at a lush green campsite which is situated close where we can satisfy our thirst.

Day 13: Trek from Pishu to Karsha (4-5 hrs)

We will begin our day with a healthy breakfast and will start towards our next stop. There is the way from Pishu which ascends slowly to Rinam (3550m) which is situated at the bank of Great river Zanskar. There we will find a fascinating view of the beautiful monastery of Tongde. When we will reach Karsha (3600m) .There at the bank we can boost ourselves.

Karshe monastery is the largest monastery of the Gelukpa sect, which is located on the hillside with an attractive sight of the full valley. It is believed that the monastery was founded in the 10th century A. D., It is recommended to pay a visit to the monastery for blessings.

Day 14: Trek from Karsha to Padum (2 hrs)

We will take the path to Pipiting village which is a dusty path from Karsha. Padum is the centre of activities of the valley. The villagers celebrate here on the special occasions to celebrate. We can buy foodstuff from the local places for the rest of the day. We can utilize the day for sightseeing of the popular Sani Gompa which is located at the nearby distance of four hours. The oldest Stupa Kanika Chorten in the entire area stands in the courtyard of Sani Gonpa which belongs to Drukpa Kagyud sect Tibetian Buddhism. There are other.

Day 15: Sightseeing of lower part of Zanskar

After morning breakfast drive 35 km along the Zanskar River to Zangla. We will visit the old and new palace of Zangla king. We will also visit the Zangla nunnery. After wards drive back to Stongdey. Stongdey monastery is the second largest Geluk pa monastery in Zanskar. Drive back to hotel for overnight stay.

Day 16: Sightseeing of Bardan monastery, Gyalwa Rignga and Stakrimo monastery
After morning breakfast drive 20 km to visit Bardan monastery beautifully built on gigantic rock. Bardan belongs to the Drukpa sect of Tibetan Buddhism. The wall paintings at Bardan monastery are really beautiful. On way back to hotel near Padum visit Gyalwa rignga, a big rock on which the five Dayani Buddha are curved beautifully from unknown time. Hot meal at hotel. In the afternoon visit close by Stakri mo monastery also belong to the Drukpa sect and Pipiting Guru temple, which has a beautiful Statue of Padma Sambhava and the sacred Stupa. Overnigt stay at hotel.

Day 17: Padum - Kargil (250 km 8 or 9 hrs)
Today after breakfast return back to Leh  by Jeep.  Padum to Kargil is  490 km and mid way is kargil . So you halt at kargil to avoid long  hours journey, Padum to Kargil is 8 or 9 hrs drive on the way enjoy the panoramic view of landscape and you will be reached kargil at 4:00 or 5:00 PM. Dinner and overnight at Kargil in Hotel.  

Day 18: Kargil to Leh (240 km 6 or 7 hrs)

Today after leisure breakfast at 9:00 AM leave to Leh on Leh - Kashmir national high way and road is very good therefore journey will be finished in 6 or 7 hrs. You will be reached Leh around 4:00 or 5:00 PM. Dinner and overnight at Leh.

Day 19: Departure. 

Today after breakfast transfer to Airport. Tour and Service end!

Description: Lamayuru to Dercha via Zanskar valley trek is the most beautiful and longest Trek in Ladakh. The trek starts from Lamayuru and it enters Zanskar Valley passing through Wanla and the most remote villages of Lingshed. On the 9th and 10th day, one reaches Hanamur or Pishu via Karsha monastery to Padum administrative town of Zanskar valley. After a day rest at Padum, you can proceed towards Darcha via Phuktal monastery and high passes (Shikun La 5,100 m).
